Finding the perfect educational institution for your child can be difficult because there are so many choices. A good parent wants their child to be an intelligent, honest and upright member of society. Considering a Christian education may be the best option for several important reasons.
1- Moral and Ethical Standards
In order to do anything the right way such as a job or getting a college degree, a person needs to have the right standards. For example, if a doctor doesn’t perform on the job with ethical standards or doesn’t know how to do it correctly the patients suffer severely. This is dangerous and dishonest. A Christian school is a religious institution which conforms to moral and ethical standards. Public schools are different because they have lower standards and will allow more bad behavior to occur.
2- Learn about God
Without a strong belief in God people often have nothing real to believe in. This lack of meaning and purpose many times makes people lead meaningless lives and tend to be unhappy or even become criminals. By receiving a Christian education, your children will learn about the Word of God. They’ll have religious inspiration to carry them through tough times and beyond.
3- Shared Values and Beliefs
Having the same values and beliefs between students, parents and teachers makes them more likely to have less conflict. Pettiness is of lesser concern because people understand each other better. Their common goals bind them together in a more positive way.
4- Motivated by God
The reasons why people do things really does matter. Some are motivated by money while others enjoy receiving attention. If more people were motivated by less selfish reasons the world would certainly be a better, more peaceful place. A Christian education has the benefit of being taught in a spiritual environment that encourages children to be motivated by a higher power which is God.
5- Think More Deeply
A Christian education inspires deep thinking through the Word of God. Deep thinkers tend to be more creative, have a higher intelligence level and a higher purpose in life than others. They take the time to think about their actions and the feelings of others. Academic achievement comes more easily to these students because they focus on school and generally have the right attitude instead of resorting to shallowness.
6- Fitting In
Closer friendships develop through likemindedness. A school that doesn’t think alike as a whole will naturally leave out the black sheep. Teachers and students alike can be bullies. This can be unhealthy and even cruel for a kid because some have individual beliefs that are different from others. As Christians, teachers and students share the same religion and values. It’s safer for a child to fit in because they feel comfortable with the people around them.
7- Feel Safer, Worry Less
Even though danger exists everywhere Christian schools teach firmer discipline. Public schools lack in this area because there are usually more students to watch while teachers have lower standards because of lack of meaning because they don’t base their classes on God. Drugs, alcohol and violence are a constant worry as students ,as well as some teachers, have a tendency towards corruption. Teaching and pursuing education for the wrong reasons like success and other selfish reasons drives teachers and children to anger and a competitive environment which is unhealthy for the spirit.
8- A Unique Education
A Christian education is a rare experience because it not only teaches academics but also the Word of God. Other educational institutions don’t focus on having a more meaningful life. This leads to children becoming more superficial when they go out into the world. Without God, people live foolish lives and make mistakes that affect themselves and others for a lifetime.
The type of education you choose for your children has a strong effect on the type of person they’ll grow up to be. Thinking seriously about this issue will help to ensure their success, happiness and the best future. The proper function of society depends on how people teach their children to act.
